Steve launched his own business-focused practice, Cherin Law Offices, in April 2013. Cherin Law Offices represents start-ups, established businesses, investors, and consulting practices during succession and exit transactions. Before starting his own firm, Steve was a shareholder of Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky (chair of corporate transactions), a shareholder of Gefsky and Lehman (serving as managing partner), and an associate in the Business and Tax groups with Buchanan Ingersoll. Steve is also a founder and President of Pittsburgh Entrepreneurs Forum.
Steve holds a holds a Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Small Business Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Before law school, Steve ran a catering business and operated several restaurant facilities.
